18 explosion-proof magnetic level gauges for tank storage in Austria

For the expansion of a tank storage facility in Austria, Hadro recently manufactured 18 explosion-proof magnetic level gauges. The tanks are used, among other things, to store oil, diesel and wastewater. With measuring lengths of up to 12.3 metres and a design fully tailored to the project requirements, this project demonstrates how Hadro combines technical expertise with customised solutions.

Depending on their length, the magnetic level gauges consist of two or three sections. Installation requirements are also taken into account during the design process. Special mounting supports are designed to meet the customer’s specifications and manufactured in-house, ensuring that the gauges can be securely installed.

In a tank storage facility, reliable level measurement is essential. That is why particular attention was paid to the specific application requirements and the operating conditions of the level gauges.

The design helps keep the passage at the lower process connection as clear as possible, even in the presence of contamination. This supports reliable level measurement, even when the tank contents may cause fouling. In addition, some of the gauges are equipped with explosion-proof electric heating and insulation to ensure reliable operation at low ambient temperatures, such as during the cold winter months in Austria.
